Ken’s Bio

Ken Grant
The bio of acting coach, Ken Grant, reflects that he is a 30 year veteran of the entertainment industry whose career accomplishments include performing, directing, casting and producing for films, episodic TV, variety shows, sit-coms, soap operas, pilot projects and hundreds of commercials. He has worked with (and learned from) the best, including: Carol Burnett, Gene Kelly, Lucille Ball, Betty White, Steve Martin, Barbra Streisand and many more. For two decades, he averaged 30 to 35 TV shows, films and commercials a year in LA and in New York.
Early in his career, Ken realized that the industry didn’t follow the same rules that he had been taught in his training classes, and he has been on a quest to clarify those rules ever since. Ken developed his Sensible Acting techniques based on the teachings of his mentor, Russ Weatherford, years of training in Method, Meisner, Adler and Strasberg techniques, and his experience working in nationally broadcast multi-camera sit-coms, soap operas and commercials, as well as children’s programs for Nickelodeon, Universal and Disney.
Ken currently resides in Los Angeles and has frequently been asked to speak and/or give seminars to performing arts groups and institutions including: SAG (Screen Actors Guild), AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), FMPTA (Florida Motion Picture and Television Association), TVI (Talent Ventures International, LA), APS Entertainment and PAC (Performing Arts Center of LA).
Even when Ken Grant is producing and/or directing commercials and television projects, he still enjoys guiding young (and not-so-young) actors to achieve the skills needed for a rewarding career in entertainment.
His bottom line is:
Success is a two part process:
-
You must know your craft, and…
-
OTHERS must know that you know your craft.
